October 19, 2017 from 1430 to 1530 the youth organization "Nevada-Semey" KazNU al-Farabi holds a round table on the topic "Final explosions of the Semipalatinsk test site", which will be held in 409 conference halls (Al-Farabi library).
Young people of KazNU Al-Farabi, with the support of the rector Galymkair Mutanov, on November 1, 2016, the youth organization of the movement "Nevada-Semey" was created.
The International Antinuclear Movement "Nevada-Semipalatinsk" is a republican public organization, embracing on a voluntary basis citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, created to protect the common human interests in the field of ecology and nature protection, which fought for the cessation of nuclear explosions and the closure of the test site. Because of the tests, tens of thousands of Kazakhstanis received radiation. Echoes of the terrible past can still be heard in the modern generation, who received terrible diseases in the inheritance. In a matter of weeks the society rose to defend its native land and a wave of peaceful demonstrations passed through the country.
As part of the activities of the youth organization, a plan was developed that aims to promote the ideas of the Nevada-Semipalatinsk movement with the goal of uniting young people from all over Kazakhstan to solve environmental problems related to the consequences of testing nuclear weapons.
The roundtable will examine the history of the explosions of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, the results of the organization of the Nevada-Semipalatinsk movement achieved over a period of more than 25 years.
The vice-chairman of the international anti-nuclear movement "Nevada-Semey" Efim Lvovich Zuslin, the responsible secretary of the MIA "Nevada-Semipalatinsk" Aliya Mahmutovna Bekmagambetova, veterans of the anti-nuclear movement, representatives of the youth organization "Nevada-Semeу" KazNU Al-Farabi will take part in the round table.
